The RMG Group is a rapidly growing accounting and business operations services firm, seeking an energetic, highly motivated Project Coordinator (Compliance).
This is a cross-functional position that requires strong attention to detail, an ability to seamlessly task-switch, superb research skills, and high powered decisiveness.
You will be key in researching, designing, and implementing compliance strategies in tandem with and with the support of the Director of Compliance.
This is a role in which you will have room for creative thinking and a strong voice in the process of policy definition and development.
To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent analytical skills, the ability to extract facts and make assumptions based on ambiguous information, as well as impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal.
Prior work experience as a Project Coordinator or a similar role will be an added advantage for the selected candidate.
Experience or background in a legal setting, tax law, or compliance is strongly preferred.
This role will report directly to the Director of Compliance and the President.

Responsibilities:
Project CoordinatorAssist the Compliance Director in day-to-day project and client-teams management and operationsMaintain full responsibility of planning, organizing, and executing all administrative tasks for a project, and selected Accounting Services teamsReport to the Compliance Director on the progress and status of each active project.
This includes meeting with key stakeholders, keeping them informed on progressTake ownership of workflows already in place; recommend and develop new workflows where neededHelp continuously improve processes with new ideas and inputsCreate and maintain documentationComplianceDevelop and implement new compliance policies and procedures as requiredAnalyze and update existing compliance policies and related documentationDevelop and maintain a compliance databaseResearch and monitor compliance with local, state, and federal laws + industry-specific regulationsServe as the main point of contact for employees with questions or concerns regarding our compliance policiesAccountingIn this role, you will gain knowledge in accounting and develop essential accounting industry skills by assisting our team with a variety of tasksWork closely with the Compliance Director to understand the company's accounting practicesWork closely with the Client Services teams to deliver client work accurately and successfullyIn this role, you will use various accounting softwares and third party applications including but not limited to:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
