50hr General Responsibilities/Job
Summary:
This is full performance clerical work.
Duties involve a variety of office support and secretarial responsibilities.
Essential Functions/Duties:
Answer the telephone; switchboard and greet visitors; determine purpose of contact and respond to inquiries within area of responsibility or refer person to the appropriate staff member Place calls Answer the intercom; announce on the public address system Word process correspondence, reports, and administrative and operational materials Enter fiscal and attendance data into computer; run year-to-date information Distribute word processed and printed materials internally and externally Duplicate, collate and file materials Operate standard office equipment Assist with data entry and processing in the Accounting/Purchasing System Receive, open, sort, and distribute incoming mail and inter-office mail Perform related work as required Provide clerical support for state test administration Review and create student schedules in the Student Information System Review and add content in the Student Information Document Center Support counselors with student paperwork, including special education paperwork Attend work regularly and on time, and complete assigned tasks Additional Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Some knowledge of clerical principles and practices Some knowledge of modern office principles and practices Skill in the use of standard office equipment Ability to understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work and in working relations with associates, district staff, and vendors Ability to communicate well orally with acceptable telephone and public contact etiquette Ability to correctly word process and enter data at an acceptable rate of speed Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, reach, handle, finger, talk, hear, see; and may be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with the public, office clientele, government and school officials, media, community agencies, vendors and their employees, and associates Minimum

Education and Training:
High School diploma
Experience:
Two years of progressively responsible clerical or office assistant experience; any equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience Required Certification/Licenses:
