Wastewater Scientist
Summary:
The Wastewater and Residuals Scientist I position is focused on providing processing and regulatory solutions to clients in the wastewater and water industries.
The position focus is on helping municipalities and industrial facilities improve biosolids and residuals quality, providing regulatory assistance, and assisting with bidding and contracts related to residuals management.
A successful candidate accomplishes project objectives by working closely with the Sr.
Wastewater Scientist to ensure project completion in a manner that fulfills client expectations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting with project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget; working collaboratively with other science and engineering staff; actively seeking technical expertise from senior staff; supporting business development opportunities and identifying opportunities to improve project efficiencies.
This is not a design engineering position.

Sr.
Wastewater Scientist PRINCIPAL TASKS Client Support and Technical Reports Supports Sr.
Wastewater Scientist with municipal and industrial wastewater projects related to solids handling, treatment, permitting, wastewater process controls, and beneficial use.
Gathers information related to municipal, industrial, and commercial wastewater/water treatment clients and regulatory requirements, and supports the Sr.
Wastewater Scientist in translating those needs into viable and cost-effective solutions.
Researches and applies principles of environmental science and engineering and basic wastewater treatment principles, adapting and modifying techniques and approaches.
Supports residuals and high strength waste market assessments projects Understands laboratory practices and conducts analytical data review related to biosolids and residuals quality.
Identifies roadblocks and designs multiple solution paths, anticipating and mitigating undesired outcomes.
Gathers technical information and prepares technical documents and presentations to present project outcomes to clients including but not limited to memoranda, technical memoranda, reports, permit applications, bid specs, and request for proposals.
Participate in presentations at scientific conferences, steering committee meetings, or other scientific meetings Project Management and Quality Control Understand project work plans developed by the Sr.
Wastewater and Residuals Scientist and works to fulfill work plan goals Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately Effectively applies company methodology and enforces project standards Seeks feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement from team members Actively engaged in multiple projects at one time Self-reports hours and expenses on a regular basis Understands project budget and seeks guidance to ensure operations within project budget.
Client and Team Engagement Supports Sr.
Wastewater Scientist with client interaction; will connect directly with client under the direction of leadership.
Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, organization, and objectives Participates in team and client meetings Understands deadlines and works with leadership to ensure timeliness MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's degree Experience in wastewater/water operations strongly preferred.
Time management skills, especially familiarity with calendar management and goal setting Strong organizing skills and ability to participate in multiple project activities Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative project management team Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize projects effectively Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrated by publications and presentations Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with state and/or federal permitting and regulatory review is preferred Job Type:
